When Facebook burst out of the college circuit and became mainstream, it was viewed by many as a passing thing. Clearly, it has stood the test of time and has grown exponentially. Other forms of social media, such as Twitter, are also rapidly growing and gaining a larger share of business users. The big guys like Coca-Cola and Pepsi have pages, and you certainly want to follow in the footsteps of that kind of marketing genius.
Facebook is not the forerunner that faded to a newer rising star, but still dominates social media. In fact, they have expanded the layout of the “fan pages” (as business and celebrity pages are called) and they now function just like websites, complete with discussion pages where fans can talk back and forth on subjects that they or the page owner originate. This interactivity on the fan page gives people a much greater sense of connection than they would get just from reading a post or leaving one of their own.
Twitter functions on the internet, but really is intended for the mobile world. “Tweets” have a maximum of 140 characters, so make for perfect text message style updates. The idea was originally to share what you are doing at that moment, but now tweets usually contain a link to something on the internet, and are a critical component to creating the “viral” phenomenon, which is when something gets sent to friends who send it to all their friends and the cycle continues madly until that particular video or site is being seen by multitudes all over the world.
If you’re a consultant or engaged in another profession where connection to your clients and potential clients is more important than reaching the general public, then LinkedIn may be a valuable resource for you. LinkedIn is a networking service for professionals, and unlike on Facebook, members can’t blindly solicit connections from other members. To be part of a network you have to have the e-mail address for the person you wish to connect to or if you are connected to someone in the network who knows that person and they can connect you.
YouTube remains the dominant video sharing site and while it isn’t permitted to post video that directly advertises, you can always demo or review your product or show some other aspect of your business that helps build a relationship with viewers. Here, anyone with a film and internet access can publish a video. Viewers leave comments, and for some reason there are an outrageous number of negative critics on YouTube, but like anything taken to excess, other viewers have grown numb to it. In addition to getting free exposure, those who post videos and develop a sufficient viewer and other sources that will bring people to your site following can make money directly from YouTube.
You could be spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars to reach your targeted audience. Not only does social media give you away to reach them for free, it also gives you access to a vast number of potential customers that you may never have even dreamed would be interested in your product.
It’s not by accident that the big corporations have started using social media marketing. They’ve got millions of dollars to invest in research to direct their campaigns and all of them are ending up in the social media arena. There’s something we can all learn from the big dogs.
You no longer have to spend hours finding info about vancouver complete internet marketing.

LED lighting can provide high quality lighting that is both environmentally friendly and energy efficient. But choosing good LED lighting can be a trickier process than you might imagine. There is a world of difference between cheap LED lighting and quality LED lighting. Depending on what you’re using it for, cheap may do the job. But a lighting specialty store can help you make choices to ensure you’re not wasting your money and that you’re not going to end up with something that looks terrible.
If you’re concerned about the environment and you’re interested in saving energy, LED lighting may provide a great solution for your home or office. Florescent lighting helps save energy but you often will sacrifice color rendering, looks and comfort. Most florescent lighting can’t be dimmed. And many regions have ordinances against disposing florescent lamps in with the regular trash. Florescent contains mercury and should not just go into the landfill. You will pay more for quality LED lighting, but it will provide at least 50,000 hours of beautiful light.
Most LED fixtures have a bunch of small diodes that need to work together. In cheap fixtures, the diodes are likely to have a great deal of color variation, not much light output, and the fixture will not be dimmable. There may also be too much spacing between the diodes so the light comes out with hot and dark spots causing a scalloping effect. If the heat sinks in the fixture are cheap, the whole thing won’t last very long and will need replacement. In contrast, high end fixtures with high end diodes, can last for 50,000 hours or more, depending on the color of the LED and the quality of the heat sinks.
A lighting specialty store can help you choose the best lighting for your home or office. They will take into consideration your needs and will pick the best lighting for tasks such as undercabinet light and for filling a room with light.
Knowing the right place to get information about led lighting couldn’t be simpler.

It is no secret that when you look good you feel better about yourself. People often speak of a “glow” or the confidence that come from looking one’s best. It is also no secret that the condition of your skin plays a big role in that glow and confidence. What can be a secret (or your secret weapon) is a skilled esthetician.
The skill set for an esthetician is wide ranging. Facials, chemical peels, pore extractions, waxing, eyebrow and lash tinting, makeup application and skin care are just some of the topics on which they should be well versed. Some estheticians find themselves being more specialized, for instance working in makeup or electrolysis studios, or only giving facials or skin care advice.
Medical estheticians help people who have suffered trauma or medical procedures which have altered the natural look of their skin. While these professionals might offer the same services as a non-medical esthetician, they use them to cover up scars, cope with hair loss, take care of damaged skin and relax into their skin’s new appearance. They help rebuild their patients’ confidence in themselves.
Regardless of being an esthetician or a medical esthetician, good people skills are a must in this job. Being able to listen to how a client or patient feels about themselves when they look in the mirror and then helping them feel better about that image is a key component to doing well. Thorough knowledge of tools and products is also essential. Above all, however, is having an open mind because it is the client’s perception of the face in the mirror and not yours.
Wanting to help people look and feel better is a noble cause, though not always an easy way to earn a living. However, if you love helping people and enjoy skin and beauty care, becoming an esthetician is an idea worth pursuing. It is a job which is never boring and results in more beauty on the inside and out!
